How we became a family...*edit*

I thought since i'm going to be sharing my pregnancy on here I might as well put some snippets of my life so you get to know me and my husband more and how we came to be....

(*edit*: I decided my description of our introduction was a bit vague, because when i tell the entire story to most people they think it's funny, so i'm going to add a few more details...)

I met Joel through my best friend laura...He was in a band that my best friend and i went to see all the time at shows, and they were HORRIBLE...the band name was called "questionable authority" and we called it "questionable talent" hah...but the lead singer was a skinny tattooed punk guy that was gooorgeous, And he smoked cigarettes, leather jackets, holy jeans, and wore bandanas like a badass. I thought he was sooo much older than me, because he smoked, and i just KNEW he was a jerk, i mean what rock star isn't a jerk right? Literally thought he was like the rudest, mean person in the world, but he was adorable, so i just admired him from afar...One day my best friend called and said that her friend Alex had brought some soup over because she was sick and that Joel had come with him and he was the nicest guy in the world...and I was like you have to be kidding me, QA Joel?? He's a jerk...But no, she kept saying, "No, seriously, he is the sweetest guy you will ever meet..." Infact when they were talking she mentioned me, and Joel knew exactly who i was, he said "That really cute girl with all the ear piercings and the cool hair?" haha, that was me; So we set up a time to go get coffee....and this picture is from that first night....
He was my first 'Real' Boyfriend....(The parents really loved that i fell inlove with a tattooed punk)
And He was in a Band :-) (They got better....kind of)
We fell in love....He came to eat lunch with me everyday in highschool, even though he had already graduated.
We broke up for a brief time, and we dated other people, i wasn't ready to grow up and try to be on my own yet....but while i was away at school in MN he called me out of the blue and told me he couldn't stop thinking about me and that he wanted to try it again, so we did the long distance thing for awhile..
and we DID stay together....and he asked me to Marry him...
And the rest is history....we've been together around 7ish years...we've been married for 2 1/2 years. And i fall more in love with him everyday! He is the sweetest, thoughtful person in the world and would do absolutely ANYTHING for me.
And i can't wait to start a family with the love of my life!

Awkward moment of the day...

So, I had a hard enough time telling my friends and family i was pregnant, today i had to be horribly embarrassed and tell a client at work...I'll set the scene: When we 'set' a room, we have to get the weight of the animal and a temperature, ask the owner why they're there that day, yada yada. Well the dog that i was setting was an 80 pound lab mix that wanted nothing more than to run out the front door, and the owner was an 'older' lady probably about my mom's age, who couldn't hold the dog still if her life depended on it, Now i'll admit many animals are timid about getting up on the scale, and i will admit it IS awkward, the scale is a flat silver thing that is shoved up against the wall and i'm sure many animals are confused as to why we want to have them stand next the wall...

So this dog wants NOTHING to do with the scale, and i KNOW i have to get her up there or else Dr. S has a hissy fit if we don't weigh the dogs before she does the exam, literally, she's made me walk back out there and tell the owner we HAVE to get a weight before she'll even look at the animal. So at this point the lady is all "I really don't think i can get her on there" and I very nicely and sweetly tell her that we NEED this weight despite how the dog feels. Now on a normal non-pregnant day, i would have literally hoisted this 80 pound dog up onto the scale and she would have been fine and we would have gotten the weight and it would of been over, but while the owner is struggling with the dog, all i can do is stand there and watch her and try to direct her on how to get the dog up on the scale, to which of course the lady is like, well unless you can get her up there, i can't do anything else...

And so comes the; "I'm sorry, i would love to help you get the dog up on the scale, but i'm pregnant and i can not lift an 80 pound dog" ohhhh, i wanted to die. I mean REALLY??!! I felt soooo stupid! This lady, who i don't even know i have to tell her this piece of my life just because she can't get her own dog up on the scale, i can't get it out of my mind, because of course she looks at me, and is like "Oh...." and is quiet, and weird, and i wanted to hide under a rug...How Embarrassing! Ah, i feel like a dork, what a life.

Update..

Okay, even though this is going to be mostly pregnancy posts i went through and kind of edited all my other posts, hopefully there isn't anything offensive i didn't catch, hmmm...Oh well, i still plan to update it on my life and the critters, so thats all.

14 Weeks

No picture today, i haven't showered today. Well i broke the news on facebook it's fun to see all the reactions from people, i think everyone else is just as surprised as we were! Hah...infact i think i know about 4-5 people that are all pregnant and due about the same time, it's crazy, i guess everyone was doing it in august, haha.

I keep telling my mom this and i'm sure for everyone and their first pregnancy its really crazy and hard to wrap your head around, i mean i guess hearing the heartbeat and stuff is crazy, and when i got to see the ultrasound with the lil peanut moving around and waving its arms and stuff, it was really crazy that THAT is inside of me, but honestly besides being exhausted i don't feel a whole different...the morning sickness really subsided after 9 weeks or so, i still get nauseous occasionally, but i was always nauseous before being pregnant. The first two months my boobs were PAINFUL, but now that is gone...so if i didn't know that i was pregnant i could probably be on "i didn't know i was pregnant", haha.

No, but all joking aside, i am terrified of having an unhealthy baby, i know that's not a good thing to focus on and dwell on, but seriously, i feel like anything i do thats 'wrong' is going to add up and my kid is going to come out not mentally stable or something, UH! I wish i could just convince myself i'm going to have a happy, healthy baby, but i guess that biggest thing that freaked me out is that i know a girl my same age that had a baby last year with downs, it was her first baby and had no idea until she was born, that FREAKS me out, i don't want to sound shallow or anything, but i don't think i could deal with that, i would feel so guilty that i did this, and couldn't really have prevented it.

OKAY...i'm done, i'm trying to think positive! Joel reminded me last week, "Well just remember half of that baby is mine, and i kick ass...soooo, it's probably gonna be perfect" haha, i love my husband. :-)

13 weeks 4 days

This picture is alittle deceiving...i don't really have a 'bump' yet, thats just all of my fat that has been pushed up out of the way for the baby, haha, This is the least amount i've weighed in the past year and yet i feel fatter than ever, It even looks better after i've eaten, but that's all squishy, no hard baby in there yet, he's still too little, but it's nice to think that maybe it's kind of forming so that i don't just look 'fat' :-)
I was trying to download an audio clip that has the heartbeat, but blogger apparently doesn't do that, so i guess that won't work.

So far so good, not nauseous anymore, Week 7.8&9 were realllly bad for nausea, plus on top of that stupid intestinal infection i was dealing with, it was hard to eat, i lost about 5 pounds in less than a week, i still haven't gained it back yet, but i think slow and steady will be the best, i don't want to be one of those HUGE pregnant people.

My cravings have been, Jolly Ranchers, sweet candy like airheads, at first it was pickles like crazy i ate 2 whole jars of pickles in less than two weeks, the pickles have calmed down a bit, but i still love eating them. Basically lots of unhealthy stuff. Only getting up about twice a night to pee where as it used to be four or five, so i'm sleeping alittle better.

Well i think that's all for now.

Uhhh...Surprise!

Is what i said to Joel when i sent him this picture.....I guess he almost fell off his tank at work.

Uhhh...and this one was taken yesterday, the little bean is waving!
Sooo, i'm pregnant! I'm too much of a chicken to announce it on facebook yet, probably not til' next week, for some retarded reason i have some sort of ridiculous anxiety about being one of 'those girls' that says something too soon and something happens, even though i'm into the week of like 1:10000 thing of something happening...eh, oh well once you're anxious i guess you never shake it, anyway at this point i guess it's public knowledge now, so it's easier to me to break it on here than anywhere else, even though i think a total of 3 people read my blog..haha, oh well.

Most ridiculous of days..

So these past couple of weeks i've been having a hard time with work and life and bills and all the other stuff in my life. I try to always be happy and friendly at work even when people are irritating me and driving me crazy, but yesterday was the most rewarding day of my life, well i mean where work comes into it.

So i came back from lunch to find an envelope with just "Chanda" written on it, sent through the mail to the clinic address. Jokingly i said it was probably fan mail, but i honestly thought it was just a birthday card from a family member or something like that...so i open the card, and this is what it says...

"Dear Chanda,

I hope i spelled your name right. We wanted to thank you for always having a smile and being so very nice to our babies every time we come into the clinic. We like to help and reward young people who work hard when we can. Finding good workers now days is hard and we can tell you love your work and all the animals, what a treasure you are. We hope this helps some and lets you know that your hard work does count. Keep up the good work and God Bless. "

Okay, wow...how amazing right?? I was in tears, until i turned over what was IN the card...a 500$ money order! FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!

What??!!

Oh my god, i was bawling, i kept crying every time someone read it, i can't believe it, i did something to make someone so happy, and i can't believe it!! I feel like i have to work even harder to make sure i never treat anyone poorly!

I will carry this card in my purse for the rest of my life, and always look at it when i'm having an awful day and feel like i hate my job and that i don't matter to anyone. Holy camoley!
